The deadliest residential fire in New York City in over 25 years was started by a 3 year old child playing with a stove. The child, his mother, and another child were able to escape--except they left the door open behind them.
The open door facilitated the fast movement of the flames, ultimately killing 12 people and critically injuring more. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio fears more lives may be lost.
Hosts Debbie Dujanovic and Dave Noriega share their personal stories of fires in their own homes, and later get tips from the fire department on how to improve your chances of surviving fire in your home.
